About Victorine

My Inspiration and Journey

Born in 1965 in Esch/Alzette, Luxembourg, Victorine has long drawn inspiration from angels—a fascination rooted in her grandfather’s wooden carvings that still grace local churches. In 1992 she moved to New York City, studying stone sculpture at the Art Students League of Manhattan under the guidance of renowned artist Lorrie Goulet.

After 9/11, N’s work took on a deeper mission of healing and hope, most notably expressed in White Angel, an alabaster sculpture exhibited at Gelabert Gallery in New York. In 2006 she expanded into metalwork, experimenting with cold-cast bronze, copper, and sterling silver. Her groundbreaking Fusion series combined these materials with unique oxidized finishes, exploring texture, resilience, and transformation.

In 2018 she unveiled a monumental collection of angel wings—life-size copper and silver forms enriched with vibrant patinas and mounted on stainless steel panels. These works embody her recurring themes of flight, protection, and transcendence.

Her practice also extends into cultural and corporate commissions. For the Luxembourg American Business Awards, she created bespoke sculptures to honor Avery Dennison (2006), DuPont Namur (2022), and Red Wire Space (2024). These works highlight her ability to merge artistry with commemoration on an international stage.

In 2022 she was also commissioned to create Immigration for the centennial of Luxembourg emigration to Wisconsin—a bronze sculpture of a family embraced by wings, first carved in poplar wood. A jewelry edition in sterling silver and gold is available through the Luxembourg Museum in Belgium, Wisconsin, and online.

Through stone, metal, and mixed media, Victorine gives form to the presence of angels—symbols of strength, protection, and renewal—inviting viewers into spaces of reflection, healing, and wonder.
