About Me

My background

Born 1965 in Esch/Alzette, Luxembourg, I am an artist whose work bridges the visible and the invisible—translating emotion, memory, and spirit into form.

Early Influences

My journey began in the presence of my grandfather’s wooden carvings—sacred forms that whispered of angels long before I knew their names. These carvings still grace local churches, but their true legacy lives in my hands.

New York and the Language of Stone

In 1992, I moved to New York City and studied stone sculpture at the Art Students League of Manhattan under Lorrie Goulet. It was here that stone began to speak back—revealing not just form, but memory.

A Turning Point

After 9/11, my work transformed. White Angel, an alabaster sculpture exhibited at Gelabert Gallery, became a vessel of healing and hope—a message in stone.

Fusion of Elements

In 2006, I expanded into metalwork, pioneering the Fusion series—cold-cast bronze, copper, and sterling silver, oxidized into living patinas. These works explore resilience, texture, and transformation—each piece a story frozen in time.

Wings and Symbols

In 2018, I unveiled a monumental collection of angel wings—life-size copper and silver forms enriched with vibrant patinas and mounted on stainless steel panels. These are not just sculptures. They are symbols of flight, protection, and transcendence.

Current Medium: Clay and Bronze

I currently sculpt primarily in clay, with selected works cast in bronze, allowing for fluidity and structural depth while preserving the spiral language that defines my artistic expression.

Commissions and Legacy

My work extends into cultural and corporate commissions, including:

  • Luxembourg American Business Awards: Sculptures for Avery Dennison (2006), DuPont (2022), Red Wire Space (2024), and Pastipak (2026).
  • Immigration: A bronze sculpture for the centennial of Luxembourg emigration to Wisconsin—a family embraced by wings, first carved in poplar wood. A jewelry edition in sterling silver and gold is available through the Luxembourg Museum in Belgium, Wisconsin, and online.

My experience

I began sculpting at the age of 28, driven by a desire to uncover the hidden stories within raw materials. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of stones and metals, exploring diverse techniques—each medium teaching me patience, precision, and the power of transformation. My work has been exhibited in numerous galleries, including the Luxembourg House in New York, and is held by collectors worldwide.

My vision

I believe that art is a bridge between memory and possibility. My sculptures are not just objects—they are invitations to pause, reflect, and connect. Each piece is crafted to resonate with the viewer’s own journey, blending raw material with refined emotion. What makes my work unique is its ability to speak without words, to touch without moving.

The Artist’s Breath

Through stone, metal, and mixed media, I give form to the presence of angels—symbols of strength, protection, and renewal—inviting viewers into spaces of reflection, healing, and wonder.
